Gingerbread is delighted to work in partnership with Marks & Spencer, One Parent Families and New Deal to deliver Marks & Start - ‘Lone Parents' Return to Work’ course as part of Marks & Spencer's Corporate Social Responsibility Programme. Through their flagship programme Marks & Spencer aim to give the opportunity of training and work experience to lone parents, helping them get ready to access the world of work. |

Parents Return to Work offers:
A three day work preparation training course in Marks & Spencer, Donegal Place, Belfast (within schools hours), tailored specifically for parents. Areas which will be covered include:
Plus:
- induction training with Marks & Spencer;
-
two-weeks work experience placements within Marks & Spencer, Donegal Place (Belfast City Centre), Ballymena, Newtownbreda (Forestside), Lisburn (Sprucefield) or Bangor, which will be flexible to fit around school hours;

a buddy support system during placements;
-
childcare costs, travel costs, meals, and uniforms will be provided; and
-
support & guidance will be given before, during and after the programme.
Benefits
This programme aims to help lone parents make an informed decision about whether returning to work is right for them. It also prepared parents for the world of work and refered them to jobs and/or training opportunities.
Who should join the programme?
The programme is open to any lone parent with a child(ren) of school age, or younger, who has been out of the job market and is actively considering returning to work. All participants have to be eligible to work in Northern Ireland and are subject to Marks & Spencer's selection criteria.
